Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder Egg Priority (Japanese: ワンダーエッグ・プライオリティ, Wandā Eggu Puraioriti) is an original Japanese anime television series produced by CloverWorks. Written by Shinji Nojima and directed by Shin Wakabayashi, with character designs by Saki Takahashi, it aired on Nippon TV and other channels from January to March 2021, with a special episode released in June of the same year. The story follows Ai Ohto, a young girl who, after the suicide of her best friend, Koito Nagase, is led by a mysterious entity to purchase a "Wonder Egg". Upon breaking the egg in a dream-like world, Ai is tasked with saving girls who have committed suicide due to various adversities. Through this, she believes she can get closer to saving her friend. In the bizarre world of Wonder Egg Priority, past trauma, unforgettable regrets, and innate fears surface as the girls must understand the connection between other people’s demons and their own, rescuing others from their worst fears. Wonder Egg Priority has been praised for its high production value, elaborate narrative, themes, and sensitive handling of controversial topics. However, post-broadcast reviews have been polarized, with particular criticism directed towards the eleventh episode and the special episode's conclusion.
