Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy

"Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy" (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kei Azumi and illustrated by Mitsuaki Matsumoto. It began serialization online in 2012 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, before moving to the AlphaPolis website in 2016. The series was later acquired by AlphaPolis, who have published it since May 2013. The story follows high school student Makoto Misumi, who is summoned to a fantasy world to become a hero. However, due to the goddess's personal preferences, he is deemed “ugly”, stripped of his hero title, and banished to the edge of the world. Rescued by the god Tsukuyomi, Makoto gains immense power and begins building a new civilization with various demi-humans and mythical beings. The work has also been adapted into a manga illustrated by Kotora Kino, which has been serialized online on AlphaPolis' manga website since 2015. An anime adaptation produced by C2C aired its first season from July to September 2021, and a second season by J.C.Staff aired from January to June 2024. A third season has been announced. The story revolves around Makoto's adventures in the other world and his journey to rebuild society with his companions. The series has been released on multiple platforms and has gained a large fan base.
