"Jian Wang 3: Shen Jianxin's Chivalrous Heart - The Long Drifting Life" is a side story of the "Jian Wang 3: Shen Jianxin's Chivalrous Heart" series, released exclusively on bilibili on October 24, 2020. The story setting shifts from the grand Jianghu and imperial court to the bustling and ordinary streets. It tells the story of Shen Jianxin, who, upon invitation from Headmaster Li Wangsheng, goes to Chang'an to establish the Chang'an Pure Yang office and makes a living by fortune-telling at a street stall. During these days of "long drifting," Shen Jianxin is no longer a famous Jianghu hero with a protagonist aura, but rather a "working person" striving to live in Chang'an. The series continues the lighthearted and comedic style of its predecessors while incorporating satire of reality. It blends modern elements into an ancient setting, showcasing Shen Jianxin's daily life in Chang'an. The plot features interconnected events, from a gutter oil incident to Shen Jianxin's feigned alliance and subsequent exposure of a black-hearted factory on the day of the Pure Yang branch's opening ceremony. It concludes with a cohesive "sentimental swordplay" finale. Viewers praise the series for being lighthearted, humorous, and relatable, while also acknowledging the subtle social commentary. Overall, "Jian Wang 3: Shen Jianxin's Chivalrous Heart - The Long Drifting Life" is a short, easy-to-watch series that tells a story of a small character's struggles in Chang'an within a relaxed atmosphere.
