Night Head 2041

Night Head 2041 is a Japanese anime television series based on the 1992 Japanese television drama series Night Head. Set in the year 2041, the world has undergone a major transformation after a world war. In the new social structure, belief in any god or supernatural entity is considered preposterous. To prevent citizens from having potentially incriminating thoughts, the government established the Special Weapons Enforcement division to capture and "rehabilitate" such believers. The story revolves around two pairs of brothers: Naoto and Naoya Kirihara, who possess psychic abilities, and Takuya and Yuya Kuroki, who are part of the enforcement division. The Kirihara brothers were hidden away for years due to their powers, promised freedom when the world was ready for their existence. However, they find themselves in a society that does not welcome psychics, and thus are hunted by the Kuroki brothers. The plot unfolds around the complex relationships between the four brothers, revealing their mysterious connections across different times and worlds, known as the "paradox". The anime is animated by Shirogumi, directed by Takamitsu Hirakawa, and written by George Iida, the director of the original drama, with original character designs by Oh! great. It aired on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block from July to September 2021. The opening theme is "Icy Ivy" by Who-ya Extended, and the ending theme is "Shion" by Myuk. Additionally, the series has manga, novel, and stage play adaptations.
