The story follows Gideon Ragnason, once a member of the Hero's party, who is banished for being deemed inadequate. He changes his name to Red and opens an apothecary in a border town, hoping for a peaceful life. However, his quiet life is disrupted by the arrival of Rit, a former comrade and princess of the Duchy of Loggervia, who seeks refuge from her family's power struggles and decides to live with him. The series has been adapted into a manga and an anime. The first season of the anime was produced by Wolfsbane and Studio Flad and aired in 2021, while the second season, produced by Studio Flad, aired in 2024. The story combines comedy, adventure, fantasy, and slice-of-life elements, depicting Red and Rit’s daily life in the border town and their entanglements with their past adventuring days.
