"Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life!" is a Japanese anime series produced by ENGI, based on the light novel series written by Light Tuchihi. The story follows Hiroshi Yuuki, a high school student who is tricked into purchasing "Kiwame Quest," a VRMMORPG touted as the "most realistic" game ever created. The game boasts extreme realism, from graphics and NPC behavior to sensory experiences and even pain. However, this excessive realism makes the game incredibly difficult. Players feel real pain when injured, and wounds take days to heal. The game's world mimics real-life limitations, making the virtual world feel even worse than reality. Despite this, Hiroshi is determined to conquer this "shittier than real life" game and embarks on a challenging adventure. The anime, which premiered in 2021, gained attention for its unique premise and anti-cliché plot, humorously exploring the potential issues of games becoming too realistic and the struggle to overcome challenges in a virtual world.
