Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus, stylized as SCARLET NEXUS, is an action role-playing game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Tose, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released on June 25, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is set in a distant future where a psionic hormone was discovered in the human brain, granting people extrasensory powers. Simultaneously, deranged mutants known as "Others" began to descend from the sky with a thirst for human brains. To combat this threat, those with extrasensory abilities, known as "psionics," were recruited into the Other Suppression Force (OSF), humanity's last line of defense. Players take on the role of OSF recruits, such as the psychokinetic user Yuito Sumeragi or the sword-wielding psychokinetic Kasane Randall, exploring the futuristic city of New Himuka and uncovering the mysteries of a "brain punk" future where technology and psychic abilities intertwine. Players can use psychokinetic abilities to manipulate objects in the environment and throw them at enemies. The game also features a companion system where players can acquire unique combat abilities through "brain links" and upgrade their characters' skills. Additionally, the game has an anime adaptation that expands upon its world and story.
