"Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness" is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rin Asano, serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's seinen manga magazine "Young Ace" since May 2016. In 2022, the manga was adapted into a 12-episode TV anime series produced by Encourage Films. The story follows Nagomu Irino, a young man who once aspired to be a musician. He returns to his hometown in Kyoto to take over his family's wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop, Ryokushou, after learning about his father's hospitalization. However, he discovers that his father has already chosen a ten-year-old girl named Itsuka Yukihira as the shop's successor. Itsuka was abandoned at Ryokushou by her father and longs to find him. Nagomu's mother asks Nagomu to act as a father figure to Itsuka, hoping it will help her open up. Their relationship starts off rocky, but Nagomu and Itsuka gradually grow closer, realizing their similarities and their shared love for Ryokushou and its sweets. The anime is a heartwarming portrayal of family, legacy, and the bonds between people.
