大王饶命

"Spare Me, Great Lord!" is a Chinese urban fantasy web novel written by Talking Elbow. It was serialized on Qidian Chinese website in August 2017, and later completed and published. The story is set in an era of spirit energy revival, where the protagonist Lu Shu, originally an ordinary high school student, accidentally gains the ability to grow stronger by absorbing negative emotions. He and his younger sister, Lu Xiaoyu, depend on each other and grow stronger in the world of awakeners and cultivators, eventually becoming the leaders of the era. The novel is known for its lighthearted and humorous style, as well as its witty and often cynical "poisonous chicken soup" style of commentary, and it features many distinctive and comical characters. The work won first place on the "2018 Cat Film Hurun Original Literature IP Potential Value List" and has been adapted into comics and animation, gaining a great deal of popularity. In the novel, Lu Shu's character setting is not that of a traditional hero; instead, he is somewhat "cheap," but this endearing contrast is loved by readers. He relies on his special ability to absorb negative emotions and his unique way of dealing with situations to gradually become a powerful "Great Demon King," and his interactions with his sister Lu Xiaoyu are also full of warmth and fun. The work also constructs a complex cultivation system, including rank classifications from F-level to God King realm.
