Vinland Saga Season 2

Vinland Saga Season 2 (ヴィンランド・サガ SEASON2) is a Japanese anime television series produced by MAPPA, based on the manga by Makoto Yukimura. Set a year after the events of the first season, it follows Thorfinn as he becomes a slave and encounters Einar, another slave, on a farm. The season primarily focuses on Thorfinn and Einar's lives on the farm, and Thorfinn's journey of facing his past sins and finding new meaning in life. Concurrently, Canute, now the King of England, is expanding his territory, aiming to establish his vision of a "promised land." MAPPA took over the animation production for the second season, though key staff members from the first season such as director Shūhei Yabuta, character designer Takahiko Abiru, and composer Yutaka Yamada returned. The season aired from January 10 to June 20, 2023, comprising 24 episodes, covering the Slave Arc (Chapters 55-99) and the beginning of the Eastern Expedition Arc (Chapters 100 and pages 19-25 of 101) of the manga. It was simulcast on Netflix and Crunchyroll, also featuring English dubs.
