The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic

"The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic" (Japanese: 治癒魔法の間違った使い方 ～戦場を駆ける回復要員～, Chiyu Mahō no Machigatta Tsukai-kata: Senjō o Kakeru Kaifuku Yōin) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG. The story follows Ken Usato, an ordinary high school student who, along with his student council president Suzune Inukami and classmate Kazuki Ryusen, is transported to another world. While his companions are recognized as heroes, Ken discovers he has a rare aptitude for healing magic. However, instead of fighting on the front lines, he is forcefully taken by Rose, the intimidating captain of the kingdom's Rescue Team, and subjected to grueling training to become a recovery member on the battlefield. The series began as a web novel in March 2014 on the user-generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, and was later acquired by Media Factory, which published 12 volumes between March 2016 and March 2020. A manga adaptation by Reki Kugayama has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine since April 2017. An anime television series adaptation produced by Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation aired from January to March 2024, and a second season has been announced. The series is known for its unconventional take on healing magic and the protagonist's unusual path to power.
