Under Ninja

"Under Ninja" (アンダーニンジャ, Andā Ninja) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kengo Hanazawa. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine since July 2018. The story is set after the Pacific War, where the ninja organization in Japan was disbanded by the Allied Powers, but in reality, ninjas still exist secretly in various organizations, with an estimated population of around 200,000. The main character, Kuro Kumogakure, is a low-ranking ninja leading a lazy life. He receives orders to infiltrate a high school. This series is known for its unique ninja setting, humorous style, and action-packed scenes. Besides the manga, it has also been adapted into a TV anime that aired from October to December 2023 and a live-action film scheduled to be released in January 2025. The work explores the way ninjas survive in modern society and their role in it.
