"Non-Human Beings" is a four-panel and multi-panel comic series created by the cartoonist Yi Wang Kongqi, originally titled "Shen Me Gui". The comic began serialization on Sina Weibo on August 21, 2015, and was released on YouYaoQi on April 1, 2016. The story is set in a modern metropolis and tells the daily funny stories of a group of gods and monsters from traditional Chinese mythology living and working in modern society. The work shows the challenges and interesting things these mythological figures encounter in modern life, such as the nine-tailed fox Jiuyue, the third prince of the Dragon King Aolie, Nezha, and Guanyin, in a relaxed and humorous style. It was later adapted into an animated series, which was exclusively broadcast on Tencent Video on March 29, 2018, and began broadcasting on Bilibili on February 7, 2019. The animated version features the theme song performed by Luo Tianyi and began airing on TV Tokyo in Japan on July 5, 2023. With its unique theme and humorous style, "Non-Human Beings" has gained widespread popularity and has also led to the development of the mobile game of the same name, "Non-Human Beings: Ace Employee".
