Heroes of Newerth is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by S2 Games, similar to the DotA map in Warcraft III. The game supports Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X and is the first MOBA game with an independent client. Initially developed and published by S2 Games, it was acquired by Garena in 2015 and further developed by its Frostburn Studios. Tencent Games used to operate the game in mainland China in 2013 but closed the server in 2016. The game held a professional league called HONTOUR. It is important to note that the game's servers are planned to be shut down permanently on June 20, 2022. 'Quanmin Chaoshen' (全民超神) is another MOBA mobile game by Tencent Games, developed by Photon Studio Group, supporting Android and iOS, which had its public test in August 2015 and stopped operation in October 2019. Although the names are similar, they are different game products.
