"Have a Nice Day" (later retitled "Big World") is a Chinese animated film directed by Liu Jian, known for its dark humor and profound exploration of social realities. The film tells the story of Xiao Zhang, a driver in a small southern Chinese town, who steals his boss's cash to raise money for his girlfriend's plastic surgery, triggering a series of chain reactions. It depicts the struggles and helplessness of lower-class characters under the temptation of money. The film was selected for the main competition of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, becoming the first Chinese animated feature film to be shortlisted for the main competition of Europe's three major international film festivals. It also won the Best Animated Feature at the 54th Golden Horse Awards. The film took three years to make, directed and written by Liu Jian, who paid homage to the classic films "The Godfather" and "Rocky." With its unique animation style and deep social criticism, "Big World" has attracted widespread attention and discussion. Despite facing a removal controversy due to a lack of official permission to participate in festivals, it was eventually released in mainland China, gaining audience recognition.
