Estab Life: Great Escape

Estab Life: Great Escape (エスタブライフ グレイトエスケープ) is a Japanese original anime series created by Gorō Taniguchi, animated by Polygon Pictures, and directed by Hiroyuki Hashimoto. It aired in Japan from April 7, 2022, to June 23, 2022, consisting of 12 episodes. The series is set in the distant future where Earth's population has begun to shrink after reaching its peak. To preserve the species, the "Supernatural Renovation Project" was initiated by AI, dividing Tokyo into several walled "Cluster" neighborhoods, each with its own genetically modified population governed by artificial intelligence. Most people live within their own Clusters, unaware of life beyond. However, some seek to escape, and an outfit called "Nigashiya" helps those who wish to do so. The story follows Equa, Ferres, and Martese, who are ordinary high school students by day but secretly work as "Extractors" at night, illegally smuggling people between Clusters. They risk their lives to give clients a second chance. As cluster moderators become increasingly aware of their actions, the extractions become more dangerous. Estab Life: Great Escape is part of the "Estab Life" mixed-media project, which also includes an anime film titled Bloody Escape: Jigoku no Tōsō Geki and a mobile game called Estab Life: Unity Memories.
