Tribe Nine

Tribe Nine is a multimedia franchise created by Tookyo Games and Akatsuki, set in Neo-Tokyo in the year 20XX, where disaffected youths form gangs called “Tribes.” These Tribes settle conflicts through a sport called “Extreme Baseball” (XB). The franchise includes an anime series, a mobile game, a webtoon, and a comic series. The anime, produced by Liden Films, aired from January to March 2022. It follows the story of the Minato Tribe as they compete against other Tribes in XB matches, while also facing a powerful adversary seeking to control Neo-Tokyo. Extreme Baseball is similar to traditional baseball but has fewer equipment restrictions and the field can be as large as an entire ward. Known for its unique setting and dynamic character designs, the series, while receiving mixed critical reception, has drawn attention for its over-the-top style and exciting game sequences. The franchise also features many distinct Tribes, such as the Chiyoda Tribe, Adachi Tribe, and Taito Tribe, each with their own stories and characteristics.
