"Revision Town" is a 2020 animated short film that tells the story of a bizarre town where "facial revision" is the standard by which people are judged for their status and character. The story revolves around a pair of siblings: the older sister, Ruo Qing, works hard in the facial revision institute, eager to gain the qualifications, while her younger brother, Lai Yong, hates this social atmosphere and chooses to rebel. The film has received attention for its unique visual style and its criticism of social prejudice. It blends the architectural style of Hui with popular elements from the last century, creating an atmosphere that is both familiar and strange. The work explores the impact of social pressure on individual independence, as well as the dilemmas people face in pursuing social recognition. Despite winning some awards at home and abroad, "Revision Town's" straightforward expression has also sparked controversy, with mixed reviews from domestic audiences. The film's production team, Fox Light Animation, has also gained attention due to the success of this work.
