It was originally serialized as a web novel on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" platform from 2017 to 2019. The story follows an office worker who is reincarnated as Leon Fou Bartfort, a background character or 'mob', in an otome game he was forced to complete. In this world where women reign supreme, only handsome men hold status. Leon uses his memories and knowledge of the game from his past life to disrupt the social hierarchy and tries to live a quiet countryside life. The series also has a spin-off light novel and manga titled "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of That Otome Game Is Tough for Us." An anime adaptation aired from April to June 2022, with a second season announced.
