"The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of Rust Mountains" is the second season of "The Faraway Paladin" anime, adapted from the light novel series of the same name by Kanata Yanagino. "The Faraway Paladin" tells the story of Will, the only human boy raised in the City of the Dead by three undead beings: the skeletal warrior Blood, the mummified priestess Mary, and the spectral sorcerer Gus. The second season, "The Lord of Rust Mountains," continues Will's story as he becomes a lord and establishes "Torch Port," a hopeful river port. However, anomalies appear in the forest, prompting Will and his companions to investigate and receive a prophecy from the forest king: the 'Fire of Black Calamity' will occur in the Iron Rust Mountains. Will must face new challenges and threats, exploring the disaster hidden within the ruined dwarven city. The anime was co-produced by OLM and SUNRISE BEYOND, and aired from October to December 2023.
