"The Fox Hunts the Hunter" is a classic Chinese animated film produced by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio in 1978, which won the Art Award at the 4th Zagreb International Film Festival in Yugoslavia in 1980. The film, adapted from the fairy tale of the same name by Jin Jin, tells a fantastic story. On the top of Tian Ding Mountain, there is a legend that a fox has turned into a wolf with two long fangs and three eyes, causing animals to scatter in fear. A cunning fox, after learning of this, decides to impersonate the monster and asks the wolf to make him look like the legendary beast. At the same time, a young hunter hears the rumour, and he struggles with his conscience - on one hand he fears the monster, and on the other he must hunt to survive. The story humorously portrays the various reactions of the animals, as well as the hunter's inner struggle. The fox's cunningness contrasts strongly with the hunter's kindness. This animation is not only captivating in plot but also carries profound meaning, reflecting social phenomena of the time and reminding people not to be fooled by appearances. "The Fox Hunts the Hunter," with its unique art style and storyline, has become a childhood memory for a generation and is still loved by audiences today.
