"Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf" is an anime adaptation of the light novel series written by Isuna Hasekura, and a remake of the original anime series. Set in a fictional world with European historical influences, the story follows Kraft Lawrence, a 25-year-old traveling merchant, and Holo, a wise wolf deity with wolf ears and a tail. Lawrence encounters Holo, who claims to be a harvest god and seeks to return to her northern homeland. In exchange for helping him with his business, Holo offers her wisdom. They embark on a journey north, facing various economic and trade challenges. Produced by Passione, the anime premiered in April 2024 and a second season has been announced. It is noted for emphasizing economics, trade, and business interactions rather than typical fantasy elements, and has been praised for its unique plot and character dynamics.
