Rift

"Rift" and "Shikong Zhi Xi" (translated as "Rift of Spacetime") are two distinct works, both dealing with the concept of rifts in spacetime. "Rift" is a base-building, survival game with Action-RPG elements developed by EXOR Studios. Players assume the role of a scientist/commando in an advanced mech suit capable of dimensional rift travel. The game involves building bases, collecting samples, researching new technologies, and battling enemies. It's set on the world of Telara, which features a diverse geography including deserts, mountains, and forests. "Shikong Zhi Xi," on the other hand, is an anime released in the fall of 2024, adapted from NetEase's game "Fantasy Westward Journey." The story revolves around an unstable energy rift between the present world and an alternate realm, leading to the invasion of monsters from the other side. A group of individuals with special abilities steps up to protect the world. The protagonist, Lin Yifan, is a chuunibyou manga artist who gets caught in the crisis and encounters the guardian beast Kirikiri, embarking on a journey to save the world. The anime humorously depicts Lin Yifan's growth from a regular manga artist into a hero.
