金の国 水の国

"Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom" is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nao Iwamoto. The story revolves around two long-feuding neighboring countries: the wealthy but water-scarce "Gold Kingdom" and the impoverished but water-rich "Water Kingdom." To maintain peace, Princess Saara of the Gold Kingdom and Naranbayar, an architect from the Water Kingdom, are forced into a fake marriage, but they gradually fall in love. The manga is praised for its delicate emotional portrayal, beautiful artwork, and profound exploration of peace and understanding. It was serialized in "Monthly Flowers" from 2014 to 2016 and won numerous manga awards, including first place in the 2017 "This Manga is Amazing!" female readers category. A 2023 anime film adaptation by Madhouse further expanded the work's reach. The story explores themes of bridging divides and prejudices through the lens of the two nations' differences and the burgeoning love between the protagonists.
