Dark Gathering

Dark Gathering (Japanese: ダークギャザリング, Hepburn: Dāku Gyazaringu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kenichi Kondo. It has been serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Jump Square since March 2019. The story follows Keitaro Gentouga, a college student with a predisposition for attracting spirits, who becomes a tutor to overcome his condition and live a normal life. He is assigned to tutor Yayoi Houzuki, a young girl with special spiritual powers. Yayoi is on a quest to find the evil spirit that took her mother's soul, and she constantly visits haunted locations. Keitaro is forced to accompany her and collect evil spirits, while Yayoi uses her knowledge of the supernatural to help Keitaro break his curse. The manga, blending horror, action, and urban fantasy, was adapted into a television anime series produced by OLM, which aired from July to December 2023 on Tokyo MX and other networks. As of February 2024, the manga has over 1.5 million copies in circulation, including both physical and digital copies. The manga is scheduled to resume serialization on April 4, 2025, after a four-month hiatus for research and preparation for a new story arc.
