The Way of the Househusband (2023), also known as Gokushufudō (2023), is a Japanese anime series adapted from the manga by Kousuke Oono. It follows Tatsu, a former legendary yakuza boss nicknamed "the Immortal Dragon," who retires from crime to become a househusband, fully supporting his career-woman wife, Miku. The series depicts comedic situations arising from Tatsu's everyday housework, contrasting his intimidating appearance and yakuza past with his new role as a househusband. Produced by J.C.STAFF, the first season premiered on Netflix in 2021, with the second season releasing on January 1, 2023. Besides the anime, The Way of the Househusband also has a live-action TV drama and film adaptation, all of which have gained popularity. The series is praised for its unique blend of contrasts, humor, and action elements.
