"Train to the End of the World" (Japanese: 終末トレインどこへいく?, Shūmatsu Torein Doko e Iku?) is an original Japanese anime television series produced by EMT Squared. It aired from April to June 2024. The story is set after the disastrous launch of an experimental 7G cellular network, which plunges Japan into chaos, with civilization collapsing and being reduced to scattered settlements. The event caused strange phenomena and affected the surviving population. Near Agano Station, residents over the age of 21 transform into intelligent animals. Two years later, Shizuru Chikura, a resident and student from Agano, finds evidence that her missing friend, Youka Nakatomi, may be alive in Ikebukuro. To find her, Shizuru and her friends commandeer an abandoned Seibu 2000 train, which they later name the "Apogee", to follow the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to Ikebukuro, with a requirement of 30 stops at various stations. Along the way, they encounter allies like the zombie queen Mito Kuroki and the scientist Doctor Makoto, as well as enemies who try to stop them. The anime is directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, with Michiko Yokote handling series composition, Asako Nishida as character designer, and Miho Tsujibayashi composing the music. A manga adaptation by Torimura began serialization in March 2024.
