Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 3 is an anime adaptation of the mobile game Uma Musume Pretty Derby, produced by Studio KAI. The third season features Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond as the main characters, focusing on their relationship and rivalry on the racecourse. Meanwhile, Kitasan Black faces the popular Duramente on the track. It aired from October to December 2023, following the first season in 2018 and the second in 2021. The story continues the world-building of the previous seasons, depicting the horse girls training at Tracen Academy and striving to become top racers. In addition to the anime, the franchise includes various media such as games, manga, music, and merchandise. At its core, the series merges real horse racing history, anthropomorphizing racehorses into cute "horse girls" and showing themes of dreams, friendship, and competition through their stories.
