"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" (2024), also known as "Regarding Reincarnated to Slime" (転生したらスライムだった件), is a Japanese anime series adapted from the light novel series of the same name by Fuse. The story follows Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old salaryman who is murdered and reincarnated as a slime in a world of swords and sorcery. He gains the ability "Predator," allowing him to devour anything and mimic its abilities. Satoru renames himself Rimuru and befriends the powerful Storm Dragon Veldora, vowing to help him break his seal. Rimuru consumes Veldora and analyzes his seal, eventually becoming the leader of the monster nation Tempest. The anime first aired in 2018 and has multiple seasons, including a second season in 2021 and a third in 2024. In addition to the TV series, there are OVAs, ONAs, and movies. In 2024, the series launched its third season and announced a fourth season and a second movie. The story focuses on Rimuru establishing a nation in another world and interacting with various factions, blending fantasy, adventure, and comedy elements.
