The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio

"The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio" (Japanese: 声優ラジオのウラオモテ) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kō Nigatsu and illustrated by Saba Mizore. The story revolves around Yasumi Utatane, a seemingly pure idol voice actress (secretly high school student Yumiko Sato), and Yuhi Yugure, another voice actress known for her cute and talented acting (secretly her gloomy classmate Chika Watanabe). The two are paired up to co-host a radio program, where they are forced to act like friends, while in reality they constantly bicker with each other. This series humorously explores the behind-the-scenes of the voice acting industry, and the gradual growth of these two contrasting personalities through collaboration. The light novel series began publication in February 2020 under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint, and has also been adapted into a manga and anime television series. The anime, produced by Connect, aired from April to June 2024. The series won the Grand Prize at the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize and is a beloved work among fans. Key characters include Yumiko Sato/Yasumi Utatane and Chika Watanabe/Yuhi Yugure, and their interactions both on the radio and in daily life are central to the narrative.
