The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess

"The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess" (Japanese: ひきこまり吸血姫の悶々, Hikikomari Kyūketsuki no Monmon) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kotei Kobayashi and illustrated by Riichu. The story follows Terakomari "Komari" Gandesblood, a vampire princess who, after three years of being a shut-in, is suddenly appointed as a commander in the Mulnite Imperial Army. Her new unit is composed of belligerent ruffians who revolt against their superiors at the slightest hint of weakness. Despite hailing from a powerful vampire lineage, Komari's refusal to drink blood has made her weak, clumsy, and inept at magic. With the odds stacked against her, can Komari succeed with the help of her loyal (and slightly infatuated) maid, Vill? Or will she regret leaving the safety of her room? The series began publication by SB Creative in January 2020, with 13 volumes released as of March 2024. A manga adaptation began serialization in Monthly Big Gangan in December 2021, and has 3 collected volumes as of November 2023. An anime adaptation produced by Project No.9 aired from October to December 2023.
