A Condition Called Love

"A Condition Called Love" (Japanese: 花野井くんと恋の病, Hepburn: Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Megumi Morino. It began serialization in Kodansha's magazine "Dessert" in December 2017. As of April 2024, 15 tankōbon volumes have been released. The story follows Hotaru Hinase, a first-year high school student who has a peaceful life with her family and friends but lacks romantic experience. One day, she witnesses Saki Hananoi, a handsome classmate, being dumped by his girlfriend. Later, she offers him her umbrella when she sees him alone in the snow. This small gesture leads to Hananoi confessing to her the next day and suggesting a trial relationship. Although Hotaru doesn't understand love, she agrees to Hananoi's request to learn about it, and they begin a unique relationship. The manga was adapted into an anime television series in 2024, produced by East Fish Studio. The anime aired in Japan from April to June 2024, consisting of 12 episodes. Crunchyroll licensed the series for streaming outside of Asia, including the Middle East and CIS regions.
