My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle

My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle is an original video animation (OVA) for the My Hero Academia series, set before the Endeavor Internship arc of Season 5. It depicts Class 1-A students at UA High who are bored during winter break while confined to their dorms. Third-year student Mirio Togata suddenly appears, introducing them to "UA Heroes Battle," a card game created by the support class. The students begin playing, using cards featuring their classmates' names, quirks, and hero costumes. A high-tech battle board created by the support class scans the cards and projects 3D holograms, simulating the students' abilities in battle. The game also includes "Helper Heroes" cards which randomly appear to aid players, adding uncertainty and fun. The OVA showcases the abilities and personalities of each student through card battles, creating a lively in-dorm competition and the question of who will emerge victorious. This OVA premiered in Japanese theaters on October 20, 2023 and was later released on streaming platforms in some regions.
