Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master

"Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master" is an anime adaptation of the novel series by Chisato Abe. It is set in a fantasy world called Yamauchi, where people known as Yatagarasu can transform into three-legged crows. The story follows Yukiya, a young Yatagarasu, who becomes the attendant of the eccentric Crown Prince Wakamiya. Soon, Yukiya is caught in a web of conspiracies attempting to overthrow the heir to the throne. In Yamauchi, men focus on daily governance while women compete for the favor of Wakamiya, who is chosen as the Kinu, a servant to the Mountain God. Four young women arrive at court to compete, including Asebi, who stands out as innocent compared to the others. Despite being born to a concubine and as a second son, Wakamiya is chosen as the Kinu, causing a rift with his brother and enraging his stepmother. Yukiya's arrival is no coincidence, as his presence is part of uncovering secrets and plots within the court. The anime aired from April 6 to September 21, 2024, with 20 episodes, produced by Pierrot.
