Dandadan (ダンダダン), also stylized as Dan Da Dan, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ app and website since April 2021. The story revolves around two high school students: Momo Ayase, a girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and her classmate Ken Takakura (nicknamed Okarun), who believes in aliens but not ghosts. To prove each other wrong, they separately visit locations associated with extraterrestrials and the occult. Momo is abducted by aliens, accidentally unlocking her psychic abilities, while Okarun is possessed by a spirit. Together, they defeat the aliens, and the story follows their adventures as they team up with friends, family, and new acquaintances to fight spirits and aliens. Key plot themes include the retrieval of Okarun's lost 'kintama' and the development of a romantic relationship between Momo and Okarun. Dandadan has received critical acclaim and was adapted into an anime television series in 2024. The anime, produced by Science SARU, aired its first season from October to December 2024, with a second season scheduled for July 2025. The series is noted for its unique plot, high-quality animation, and humorous tone.
