Puniru Is a Kawaii Slime

Puniru Is a Kawaii Slime (ぷにるはかわいいスライム) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Maeda-kun. It began as a one-shot published in Shogakukan's children's manga magazine Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic in February 2019, before starting its serialization on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic online service in March 2022. As of October 2024, Shogakukan has collected its chapters into six tankōbon volumes. The series centers around Puniru, a slime girl created by a boy named Kotaro Kawaii during his childhood. Puniru desires her creator to notice her cuteness, despite Kotaro being in love with his junior high school senior. An anime television series adaptation produced by Toho Animation Studio aired from October to December 2024, consisting of 12 episodes, and a second season has been announced. The story follows Puniru, a slime created by Kotaro during a science experiment, initially resembling a penguin and possessing the ability to shapeshift. Seven years later, as Kotaro enters his second year of junior high, Puniru gains the ability to transform into a human girl, hoping Kotaro will notice her cuteness again. Kotaro is constantly pushed around by Puniru's freewheeling antics, but their daily lives are filled with joy and excitement.
