"Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!" (Japanese: 負けヒロインが多すぎる!, Make Hiroin ga Ōsugiru!) is a Japanese light novel series written by Takibi Amamori and illustrated by Imigimuru. The story is set in Toyohashi, Aichi, the author's hometown, and follows Kazuhiko Nukumizu, a high school student who considers himself a 'background character.' He accidentally witnesses his popular classmate, Anna Yanami, being rejected by her childhood friend, leading him to become involved with a group of 'losing heroines.' The light novel series began publication under Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint in July 2021. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Itachi, started serialization on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website and MangaONE app in April 2022. An anime adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures aired from July to September 2024. The series has gained popularity for its unique perspective on 'losing heroines' and its lighthearted, comedic tone. It has received several awards and nominations, including first place in the bunkobon category of "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2025."
