A wiki is a software that allows users to collaboratively create, edit, and link pages. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. One of the most well-known wikis is Wikipedia. Wiki software allows users to edit pages using simple markup languages or rich-text editors. The core idea of a wiki is to make it easy for users to correct mistakes rather than to prevent them from happening. Most wikis have a 'Recent Changes' page that allows users to track and review the latest edits. Additionally, wikis store an edit history, so users can revert to older versions of a page. Wikis can be used for a variety of purposes, including knowledge management, note-taking tools, community websites, and corporate intranets. The first wiki software, WikiWikiWeb, was developed by Ward Cunningham in 1994 and launched in 1995. The word 'wiki' comes from the Hawaiian language and means 'quick.' The development of wikis has promoted collaboration and information sharing on the internet, enabling ordinary users to participate in the creation and maintenance of content. The openness of wikis means that anyone can participate in editing, but they may also face the problem of vandalism. Therefore, many wikis take various measures to ensure the credibility and quality of content.
