Blue Archive is a Korean role-playing game developed by Nexon Games. It was released in 2021, first in Japan by Yostar and worldwide later that year by Nexon. The game is free-to-play with gacha mechanics to obtain new characters and devise strategies. Players assume the role of a Sensei, a teacher summoned to the academic city-state of Kivotos, tasked with resolving criminal activities and searching for the missing president of the General Student Council. The gameplay is a tactical RPG where players form teams of up to six members for battles. Combat takes place on a turn-based hex map, where players use character skills. The main story is presented as a visual novel, divided into volumes and chapters, with events adding extra context. An anime adaptation, Blue Archive The Animation, aired in 2024.
