Emden

Emden is a character in the mobile game Azur Lane, based on two German light cruisers of the same name. In the game, Emden appears as a dual character, one with a light color scheme and the other with a dark color scheme, each with a flower over one eye, representing the 1908 Dresden-class light cruiser and the 1916 Königsberg-class light cruiser. The Dresden-class Emden was active in the early part of World War I, known for her raiding activities in the Indian Ocean and was ultimately sunk in the Battle of Cocos Islands. The Königsberg-class Emden served later in the war with limited action, and was scuttled at Scapa Flow. In Azur Lane, Emden has unique skills that allow her to switch forms based on her equipped main gun type, and she provides buffs to Iron Blood ships. She is depicted with a haughty and somewhat sadistic personality, with lines often implying dominance and submission. Within the Azur Lane universe, Emden symbolizes the powerless resistance against fate and a unique appreciation for humanity.
