Aoba

Aoba is a heavy cruiser character in the game "Azur Lane," belonging to the Sakura Empire faction. She is a self-proclaimed journalist shipgirl who is enthusiastic about gathering all sorts of information and writing them into newspapers. Having once served as a writer for the navy, Aoba possesses writing skills. She has a lively and cheerful personality, is curious about her surroundings, and often takes the initiative to inquire about interesting things happening around the commander. Aoba's signature features are her animal ears, slightly revealing black tank top, and white skirt. In the game, her lines often exhibit a gossipy and paparazzi-like characteristic, and she even contemplates fabricating news stories, which aligns with her role as a journalist. She also shows a special affection for the commander, even expressing her love when her affinity reaches a certain level. Historically, Aoba was the lead ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Aoba-class heavy cruisers. She participated in numerous naval battles during World War II, including the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Battle of Savo Island, the Battle of Cape Esperance, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. She was eventually sunk by an air raid in Kure in 1945.
