U-557

U-557 is a submarine character from the Iron Blood faction in the game "Azur Lane". She is a personification of the historical German Type VII submarine U-557. In the game, U-557 is known for her slightly self-deprecating personality and her “bad luck” trait, which aligns with her historical experiences. She carried out four patrol missions, sinking several enemy ships, including the light cruiser "Galatea," but the day after sinking the "Galatea," she was sunk after being mistaken for a British submarine by a friendly unit. In the game, U-557's skills include damage bonuses against light cruisers and attribute enhancements when fighting with Iron Blood faction ships, making her an easy-to-use character in submarine fleets. She is also loved by players for her unique setting of sleeping throughout battles and only opening her eyes at the end. Additionally, her lines and Valentine's Day gift descriptions highlight her “unlucky but hardworking” character.
