the Twisted Treant Maokai

Maokai, the Twisted Treant, is a tank champion in League of Legends known for his strong crowd control and resilience. Once a peaceful nature spirit, he was the guardian of a flourishing island. However, a cataclysmic magical event devastated his home and twisted him into a vengeful force. Maokai's body is made of gnarled roots and branches, and his heart holds an unyielding will and a longing for the restoration of his home. He uses magic to manipulate trees and roots, attacking enemies and protecting allies. Maokai's abilities include using branches to knock back enemies, transforming into roots to dash towards enemies and root them, and throwing explosive saplings. His ultimate ability summons a wall of advancing brambles, damaging and rooting enemies in its path. In the game, Maokai typically plays as a frontline tank or support, providing crowd control and protection while also dealing considerable damage. He is driven to eradicate corruption, restore his homeland to its former glory, and avenge those who disrupted the natural balance.
