the Gloomist Vex

Vex, the Gloomist, is a playable character in the multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends. She debuted as an antagonist in the Rise of the Sentinels event. She is a gloomy, emo yordle from Bandle City who hates happiness and color. After traveling to the Shadow Isles, she met the Ruined King and became infatuated with him, being the one who amplified his control over the Black Mist in the first place to spread misery throughout Runeterra. Vex is the 157th champion added to the game, released on September 23, 2021. She is often played in the mid lane. She is voiced by Jeannie Tirado, who also voiced Android 21 in Dragon Ball FighterZ and Tier Harribel in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Vex has unique abilities including a passive that fears enemies, launching an accelerating missile, gaining a shield and damaging nearby enemies, and summoning a zone that damages and slows. Her ultimate fires a missile that marks an enemy champion and can be recast to dash to them and deal damage. Vex's lore indicates she always felt out of place in Bandle City's joyful atmosphere, eventually seeking the Shadow Isles, where she allied with the Black Mist and Viego. Her goal is to spread misery and was disappointed with Viego's true goal to resurrect his wife.
