Viego, also known as the Ruined King, is a playable champion in the multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends, and one of the main antagonists of its universe. He serves as the main antagonist of the Ruination storyline, appearing as the main antagonist of the 2021 role-playing game Ruined King and the visual novel Rise of the Sentinels. Once a young prince of the faraway nation of Camavor, Viego foolishly sought to resurrect his deceased lover, Isolde, causing the Ruination of the Blessed Isles. Reborn as an immortal specter, Viego now holds full control over the Black Mist and rules over countless undead spirits as he still hopelessly searches for a way to restore Isolde, willing to destroy anything and anyone that stands in his path. Viego was once a prince of the kingdom of Camavor, living a pampered life that made him complacent and selfish. After his older brother died, Viego was forced to take the crown despite lacking the qualities of a ruler. He fell in love with a poor seamstress named Isolde and married her, making her queen. Viego and Isolde were inseparable lovers, and he devoted his life to her. In his quest to revive his dead wife, Viego stopped at nothing, ultimately causing the catastrophic Ruination that transformed the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles. Viego became an immortal wraith, driven by vengeance and an obsession with Isolde, controlling the Black Mist and unleashing Harrowings, vowing to make the world pay for his loss.
