Moira O'Deorain, commonly known as Moira, is a Support hero in Overwatch. She is a brilliant and controversial scientist at the forefront of genetic engineering. Moira is dedicated to rewriting the fundamental building blocks of life, aiming to overcome diseases and maximize human potential. She published a highly controversial paper detailing a methodology for creating custom genetic programs that could alter DNA at a cellular level. Despite initial criticism due to perceived ethical shortfalls, she continued her research in secret. Moira was formerly a member of Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division, where she developed weapons and technologies for the organization. After Overwatch disbanded, she joined the scientific collective of Oasis while maintaining ties with the terrorist organization Talon, which funds her experiments and utilizes her research results. In the game, Moira is known for her unique healing and damage capabilities, with abilities including Biotic Grasp, Biotic Orb, Fade, and Coalescence.
