Catherine, also known as カトリーヌ, is a prominent character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its spin-off, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is a powerful Knight of Seiros, known for her exceptional swordsmanship and unwavering loyalty. Catherine wields the legendary Hero's Relic, Thunderbrand, and possesses formidable strength and speed. She is fiercely devoted to Archbishop Rhea, stemming from Rhea's rescue of her during a time of great need. Catherine is an alumnus of the Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy, having attended as a member of the Blue Lions house. She was originally named Cassandra, and hails from House Charon in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. Her past includes being falsely accused of plotting against the king and fleeing into exile, before being taken in by Rhea and renamed Catherine. In the game, Catherine can be recruited to the player's party and has high offensive power, though with lower defenses. Her personal skill, 'Fighting Spirit,' reduces damage taken when she is attacked. Catherine's loyalty to Rhea leads to different outcomes depending on the player's chosen route, including potentially becoming an enemy in certain scenarios. Overall, Catherine is a complex and strong-willed character whose past and beliefs are key drivers of her personality.
