The Andesite Slab is a building block in Minecraft, which is a half-height version of Andesite. Andesite is a common igneous rock found underground, obtainable through mining. Andesite Slabs are crafted by placing three Andesite blocks in a row on a crafting table. They are primarily used for constructing steps, floors, and other decorative structures. They possess similar hardness and blast resistance to stone. In Creative mode, Andesite Slabs can be directly found in the inventory. In Survival mode, you need to first collect Andesite blocks and then convert them into slabs. Andesite Slabs have different IDs and data values across various Minecraft versions, and can be obtained via commands. Slabs can be placed on the top or bottom half of a block or be combined to form a double slab, making them versatile for building. Additionally, Andesite Slabs can produce a bass drum sound when placed under note blocks. In survival mode, they can be used to prevent mob spawning in certain areas, as mobs see it as a full block. Andesite Slabs not only serve as building material, but can be used to create redstone circuits.
