Bedrock
Minecraft is a sandbox video game created by Swedish game developer Markus "Notch" Persson and maintained by Mojang Studios. In the game, players can explore, gather resources, build structures, and interact with creatures. It has multiple versions, with the "Bedrock Edition" being the cross-platform version that allows players to play on mobile devices, consoles, and Windows 10/11. The Bedrock Edition differs from the Java Edition primarily in its underlying codebase and some game mechanics, such as graphics rendering and exclusive features. Bedrock Edition is written in C++, making it more efficient across various platforms. Additionally, "bedrock" in Minecraft refers to an indestructible block usually found at the bottom of the world or atop certain structures. It cannot be broken in Survival mode but can be obtained in Creative mode. It's often used to prevent players from falling into the void or as a component of important structures. Before June 7, 2022, "Bedrock Edition" was not the official name; it became official after the Java and Bedrock editions were bundled for sale on PC to differentiate it from the Java Edition. Now, the name "Minecraft" typically refers to the Bedrock Edition, while the Java version is referred to as "Minecraft: Java Edition."
