Bell

Languages:

  • Chinese: 钟
  • English: Bell
The Bell in Minecraft is a transparent, animated block entity that produces a sound when used. Unlike most utility blocks, bells cannot be crafted. Bells generate naturally in all village variants, usually near the center of the village at the meeting point. Players can mine a bell with any tool, but a pickaxe is the fastest. Bells can be attached to the side of blocks, ceilings, and floors. When a player uses the side of a bell, it produces a sound and a "swaying" animation. A bell can also be rung using a redstone signal, by any projectile, or by dropping an item on it. If a player rings the bell while villagers are sleeping, all villagers wake up. When a village is raided, villagers will ring the bell to alert other villagers. In Java Edition, if a bell is rung while there are raid mobs nearby, those mobs will receive the glowing effect. Bells are admired by piglins as golden items, but breaking a bell does not aggravate them. Bells have multiple uses in the game, including serving as a focal point for villages and alerting villagers during raids.
